Visual Studio Connections Conference
Join us in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand for the Visual Studio Connections Conference. You will be among the first to hear the cutting edge keynotes presented by Jason Zander, Corporate Vice President of Visual Studio; Scott Guthrie, Corporate Vice President of Server and Tools Business; Scott Hanselman, Principal Program Manager Community Architect for Web Platform and Tools; Steve Fox, Director, Microsoft Consulting Services. Microsoft and our industry experts will be ready to dive deep into Visual Studio and prepare you for the next generation of software development. You will be able to join the conversation that will help you find the right answers, define the right strategies and build relationships with industry experts, Microsoft architects and your colleagues. Windows 8 and cloud computing, combined with the need to display on mobile phones and tablets, will change how your company builds applications for the next 10 years. In addition we will offer sessions about the current release of Visual Studio 2010 and .NET 4.0. We recognize that development on the .NET platform is coming of age. The Visual Studio Connections conference reflects that maturity by focusing on what it takes to leverage the powerful technologies and tools of .NET 4.0 in the context of your application to maximize productivity and quality. On one hand you will see a wide range of sessions, from the application front end design and construction with the WPF and Silverlight design tools, to system architecture programming with the improved and extended WCF, to handling business activities with the new Workflow, to the new frontier of cloud computing and the AppFabric service bus, and the new .NET 4.0 features, from new framework features such as parallel computing to language innovations with C# 4.0
Visual Studio Connections will have sessions that emphasize what you need besides the raw technology we will have sessions on modern development process, technology trends, design best practices, and even quality control and project management tools and techniques.
SQL Server Connections
In the Spring 2012 SQL Server Connections conference we're going to bring you our dynamic mix of industry-recognized speakers with real-world experience backing their sessions. With SQL Server 2012 seeing the launch of the next version, we've got some in-depth non-marketing sessions that explore the major new features in the database engine and BI stack. We'll also have sessions that focus on showing you how to get the most out of existing SQL Server installations as you face ever-increasing demands for performance and availability. We'll show you how to avoid common problems and how to mitigate problems you may already have. Primary emphasis will be on real-world lessons learned and best practices for security, monitoring, performance troubleshooting, Reporting Services, SSIS, and much more.
In addition to our conference sessions, dive deeper by adding on pre-conference and post-conference workshops. Paul and Kimberly will be presenting their fast-paced and demo-laden day packed full of maintenance, performance, and operations guidelines for "involuntary" DBAs, plus a full day of SQL Server 2012 features and tools, and a more advanced workshop on performance tuning. There will be four other workshops from Brent Ozar (on SANs), Peter Myers (on BI in SQL Server 2012), Jonathan Kehayias (in Extended Events and advanced monitoring), and Allen White (on PowerShell).
SQL Server Connections spring 2012 is packed full of top speakers giving you valuable information that you can take back to work and put into practice immediately - our aim is to maximize the ROI from your conference experience. An educated DBA is extremely valuable. The knowledge gained in such a short period doesn't seem measurable but returning attendees constantly remind us that previous shows have improved their performance, availability and/or helped to reduce the overall management needed on their servers. Their servers are running better - as a direct result from attending our show. This is priceless!
